I realize I’ve been writing about snakes in my path for three years now. I mention them briefly in 39. I dedicate an entire post to their recurring appearances in Snakes and overalls.
Yesterday on my run, I came upon yet another snake. When I stopped to look closer, I felt no fear, as I had in the past. As I observed the snake, it moved its head slightly to form the perfect heart shape. All I felt in this moment was an overwhelming sense of calm.
I have not written about every time I come across a snake in my path since I would need an entire blog dedicated to the topic, but what I saw and felt yesterday was quite astonishing.
I feel more open than ever to lean more into the “woo-woo”, as they say. This is the biggest departure for me since I always leaned more evidence-based and scientific. But, I don’t think that earlier version of me was as peaceful, grounded or meditative. She was skeptical. The version of me now leans more open minded and I welcome her with open arms…and springy legs for jumping over my serpent friends.
I feel the love, you little slithering delights.
